  • 08:30 AM - Arrive at Bang Pa-in Palace. Originally, there was a riverine island when Prasat Thong became the Ayutthaya King (1630 - 1655). The palace contains five important buildings as follows.
  • Stop At: Historic City of Ayutthaya, Pratu Chai Sub-district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya 13000 Thailand
  • Proceed to Ayutthaya, the ancient capital from 1350 to 1767 A.D. One of the most interesting historical sites in the country, where you will visit a few famous Buddhist Temples.
  • Stop At: Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon, U-thong Road, Pranakorn Sri Ayutthaya District, Ayutthaya 13000 Thailand
  • 10:00 AM - Visit Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon. This temple is also known as "Wat Chao Phraya Thai." It was built by King U-Thong in 1357 for meditation. The central pagoda, built under King Naresuan at the end of the 16th century, was tall enough to outshine the Burmese-built Phu Khao Thong temple.
  • Stop At: Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, Pratuchai Subdistrict, Ayutthaya 13000 Thailand
  • Visit Wat Phra Sri Sanphet. This monastery was the most important temple in Ayutthaya and was situated within the Grand Palace grounds. It served as a model for the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok.
  • Stop At: Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam), Phratuchai Subdistrict, Ayutthaya 13000 Thailand
  • 11:00 AM - Visit Wat Lokayasutharam or Phra Noon (Reclining Buddha). The important feature is a huge reclining Buddha image. The compound area also includes two other ancient temples and a ruined site.
  • Stop At: Wat Mahathat, Ayutthaya Historical Park Pratuchai, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ayutthaya 13000 Thailand
  • Noon - Wat Mahathat: Also known as the "Monastery of the Great Relic." It was the center of Buddhism in the Ayutthaya Kingdom before it was set on fire by the Burmese. The Buddha's head entwined within the roots of a tree is one of the most recognizable images in the temple. Wat Na Phra Men, or "The Monastery in Front of the Funeral Pyre," houses the crowned Buddha, the most important Buddha image. The crowned image sits in the Subduing Mara posture and measures 6 meters in height and 4.50 meters in width across the lap. The image was cast in metal and covered with gold leaf. The uniqueness of Phra Buddha lies in the fact that the image is attired in a royal dress complete with a crown, earrings, necklace, chest, and arm ornament.
