Although nightlife is not Hua Hin’s major selling point, it has a good mix of night markets, entertainment venues and even live entertainment for those who like a little action after the sun goes down. Several British-style pubs, sports bars with wide-screen TVs and beer bars are centred on Soi Bintabat, a lane located near Hilton Hua Hin Resort. In Cha-Am, there’s Soi Bus Stop, and in Khao Takiab, Cicada Market, a boutique outdoor market with live music.

Like most outdoor markets in Thailand, Hua Hin Night Market is jam-packed with all kinds of vendor stalls selling everything from cheap souvenirs to handicrafts and all kinds of kitsch imaginable. Food is also a major reason to come. Open-sided vans selling cheap cocktails and makeshift seafood stalls ready to whip up anything to order are the main highlights. 2. White Lotus Skybar at Hilton Hua Hin Resort
This classy rooftop bar in Hilton Hua Hin offers the best views in the whole city. The 17th floor setting has a sweeping ocean vista, across the town and off towards the mountainous interior. Service is prompt and professional as you would expect from a Hilton brand bar, and the cocktail list runs through a list of classics and signature creations with tropical touches using native Thai herbs and flavours. It is among the priciest bars in Hua Hin, but the views more than make up for it. Smart casual dress code.
3. Oceanside Beach Bar
Funky and modern, Oceanside Beach Club offers a touch of urbane cool to Hua Hin. Chill out in the cabanas, splash around in the pool, and enjoy a weekend buffet of finger foods, all to the sounds of chilled lounge house from the DJ planted in the centre of the pool area. The beach is directly in front of the beach club so you can get sand between your toes and the ocean breeze keeps the place as cool as the clientele. Obviously, the party vibe is best felt on weekends when they have frequent events and parties that start in the daytime and follow through til evening with special deals on drinks throughout the night.
4. Soi Bintabat and Around
Hua Hin’s official nightlife street, Soi Bintabat and nearby Poolsuk Road have a lineup of beer bars with pool tables, sports TVs and girls to keep you company. Mai Thai, next to Hilton Hua Hin, attracts a steady crowd every evening, while the Johnnie Walker's Sports & Music Bar on Selakam Road proves popular among the expats. U Turn in Soi Bintabat is a friendly place with an outdoor seating area and comfortable loungers.
5. Cicada Night Market
Cicada Market is all about art, handmade crafts and good times. With an open-air market concept, it brings together Hua Hin’s artistic talents and those who wear ‘freedom of expression’ on their sleeves. Besides the crafts market, you’ll also find an art gallery, beer garden and live music.
6. Cha-Am’s Nightlife
Like Hua Hin, Cha-Am’s nightlife is a far cry from Bangkok’s or Pattaya’s, although it has its own share of girlie bars, karaoke lounges, discos and a go-go – all are concentrated in an area near Cha-Am Beach. Soi Bus Stop, just before Soi 1, has the largest concentration of bars and is as upbeat as it gets around here. Leading up from the beach, Narathip Road is home to Cha-Am’s only go-go bar and a handful of beer bars and karaoke pubs.
7. Plearn Wan Living Museum
This family friendly mock-village which evokes Thailand of yesteryear. The focus here is on vintage items, authentic Thai food and snacks, and a general nostalgic trip back into generations gone by. As you might expect it is very popular with Thai families who come to shop for souvenirs and arts and crafts, enjoy the exhibits which show what is was like to live in an ancient Thai village, and, of course, eat and snack their way around the village. It is open until 23:00, and it is most popular after 19:00 as the cooler temperatures are more agreeable. Plearn Wan Living Museum has wheelchair access throughout and has plenty of places to sit down and soak up the feeling of travelling back in time.
8. Hua Hin Brewing Company
Decorated like a rustic fisherman’s house, this is Hua Hin’s busiest club by far with both live bands and DJ’s. It attracts quite a crowd most nights and is invariably good for a laugh and a bit of a dance. The food menu covers all the basic pub grub, steaks, spare ribs and barbecue skewers as well as a selection of bottled beers and locally brewed beers. It’s part of Hilton Hua Hin, so don’t expect it to be cheap.
9. Chill Out at Elephant Bar
Part of Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas, Elephant Bar transports you back to 1920s Hua Hin with its elegant colonial ambience – dark timber floors, brass ceiling fans, white marble-topped tables and black leather armchairs. Unwind to the sound of live jazz music (except Sundays) and sample a glass of Heritage Fizz, the bar’s signature cocktail celebrating the hotel’s long-established history.
10. East Rooftop Bar at G Hua Hin Resort
East Rooftop Bar and Lounge in Hua Hin is located on top of the G Hua Hin Resort with a 360 degree view of the surrounding area and over-sized sofas for you to laze back in and enjoy the view. With a mixture of DJs and live bands, the mood is kept lively here and the cocktails are, while not amazing, still made with premium ingredients and taste that much nicer with a view looking over all of Hua Hin. Compared to other bars in town, East Rooftop is more popular with locals and expats which creates a different kind of vibe than that felt at other rooftop bars in Hua Hin. Overhead cover is limited so best to avoid during rainy season.
